Easter Week Recap
We are celebrating 15 people becoming Christ-followers during Easter Week! We had our largest attendance ever of 444 on Easter Sunday! To God be all the glory! Thank you SO much to all our volunteers in Production, Music, Guest Services, and Island Kidz. You guys were amazing! Thank you for serving and giving your best for Him!
New Message Series Begins This Sunday, April 15 - "Highly Unlikely"
Moses’ life was nothing like you have seen in the movies. He was born into obscurity during the darkest time in Israel’s history. He got off to a murderous start as a young adult, was anything but eloquent, and had no obvious natural instincts as a leader. However, God used him to lead one of the largest groups of people in history. Join us for a four-week journey as we discover how God used such a highly unlikely person to do amazing things to change the course of human history.

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends. And today it begins...It's officially the Christmas Season!
We decided three years ago as a church staff that we wanted to give you the opportunity to share "The Reason for the Season" with your co-workers, neighbors, and friends outside of a Sunday morning service. That was the purpose for sponsoring "An Evening in December" in December of 2009.
The official beginning of our Christmas celebrations begin with our annual "An Evening in December" Events. It's the perfect environment to bring a friend for a wonderful night of music and great desserts!
Print the attached flyer below and share it with your co-workers, neighbors, or friends. Spread the word to the Island and let's kick off the season together!

SHOEBOX DAY IS THIS SUNDAY, November 20th!
Please be sure to bring your filled shoe boxes to church no later that THIS SUNDAY, Nov. 20th. You can drop them off during the week in our main lobby on the red table. They will be delivered to the next drop-off point after the second service. NO LATE ONES CAN BE ACCEPTED.Need some help packing a shoebox? Here are the steps:
1. Wrap an empty shoebox, use one you picked up at church or just use a plastic shoebox sized bin (wrapped or unwrapped).2. Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Mark the correct age category on the label you picked up at church (or see info below for printing off one from online), and securely tape the label to the top of your box.
3.Fill it up with items. Examples: pencils, paper, crayons, coloring books, games, kazoos, yoyos, jump ropes, small stuffed animals, small dolls, flashlights with batteries, solar calculators, small puzzles, a ziplock of hard candy and gum, ball caps, socks, toothbrush, small toothpaste, soap, washcloth, hair clips, ANYTHING a child would like! DOLLAR STORES ARE GREAT SOURCES of inexpensive and appropriate items. Remember, do NOT include any chocolate, lotions, liquids, glass items, war related toys, knives etc. Each box is inspected at the regional center and such items will be removed. You may also include a brief note if you want with your address. Sometimes a child will reply.4. If possible, please donate $7 for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation and just put it in one of the boxes. If you cannot do this, do not worry…the shoebox and your prayers for the children are the most important.
5. When done, please place a large rubber band around each shoebox. DO NOT TAPE THE BOXES SHUT. They are all opened and inspected in a regional center. When delivered to the children around the world, language and age appropriate info on Jesus, the Greatest Gift of All is given to each child.6. Want to follow your shoeboxes? You can give online by using our “Follow Your Box Donation” option. Go to: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/followyourbox/ Pay for all the boxes you pack at once and print the special coded labels to place on your box, as explained in #2 above.
Want to help, but can’t pack a shoebox? Sponsor other shoeboxes by writing a check to Samaritan’s Purse OCC. Turn that it on Sunday and it will help pay the shipping costs of shoeboxes that did not have the $7 fee paid.QUESTIONS? Contact Carol C. at cclemens318@roadrunner.com or call 843.689.2903
